How to hack the screensavers in Vista
Months before Windows Vista is actually released, we already know how to hack Vista's registry to modify the effects of the screensaver.
This hack works because the original design for the screensavers allowed customisation using a control panel. However due to the time and debugging constraints during development, this feature was cut from the final version of Windows Vista. Although Stephen Coy, the developer behind most of the screensavers, hopes the advanced options will be enabled after Vista's launch through either powertoys or service packs.
But for those of you who can't wait for SP1, you can customize the Ribbons, Mystify and Bubbles screensavers through registry keys today!
Find out about the steps to customise the screensavers using the registry. And read my interview with Stephen Coy.
