Yesterday I decided to head down to the Microsoft office and catch the second half of the Technet Update Session in the Microsoft Theatre. I was presenting a session on Longhorn Server for the Brisbane Infrastructure Group from 6pm so it was quite convenient for me to turn up early.

JeffA and Kleefy are on the road delivering these sessions and Brisbane is one of Jeff's sessions. The two hour update session is broken into two parts and I arrived just in time for the start of the second half.

  • Part 1, 60 mins: Group Policy Deep Dive: Managing Policy Features, Troubleshooting, Settings in Enterprise Environments
  • Part 2, 60 mins: Longhorn Server: The Technical Overview

My favourite parts of the Longhorn session had to be the demo of Windows Server Virtualisation as well as the Terminal Services Gateway & Remote Programs. Jeff did a great job to get through 10 top things in Longhorn and only go 10 minutes over time...

If you live in Sydney or Canberra and you're interested in seeing some great features coming up in Longhorn, I could highly recommend you consider attending one of the following sessions if you can make it.

Brisbane Tuesday April 3rd 2007
Adelaide Wednesday April 4th 2007
Sydney Thursday April 5th 2007
Canberra Tuesday April 10th 2007
Melbourne Wednesday May 2nd 2007 (Full)
Perth Tuesday May 8th 2007 (Full)

Cheers

Anthony
