The BizTalkin' Boys Are Here...
Hi everyone, as mentioned by Andrew, I'm one of the new guest blog editors together with Bill and Mick, so I thought I'd better introduce myself.
Representing sunny Queensland in this trio, I've been working within the government sector in Brisbane over the past several years, mostly concentrating on large inter-agency integration projects using BizTalk and .Net. I'm probably best known around my neck of the woods for establishing the Brisbane BizTalk User Group, aka. "BrizTalk" (cool name, eh? Thank my clever wife for that one!) We currently have over 200 registered local and international members.
Outside of work and attending Tech-Ed whenever I can, I enjoy playing the trombone in local orchestras such as this one. (Apparently, "tromboning" is a hobby I share with Andrew!) I also enjoy living on the Gold Coast (even though I've never been on a surfboard in my life!)
Being pretty new to this blog thing, I'll probably be lurking in the giant shadows of my two co-editors for a bit (both of whom had a big role in getting me started with BizTalk!) But I'm definitely looking forward to this experience!
And now over to Bill & Mick...
Cheers,
Dan

About DanToomey
Originally from New York, Dan had the good sense to marry an Aussie girl and migrate to the Gold Coast, whilst also ditching his old identity as a symphony trombonist to start a new career in IT. He has worked ever since in the Queensland Government sector, concentrating mainly on large integration projects using BizTalk Server, .NET, and Web Services.
In his free time, Dan enjoys running the Brisbane BizTalk User Group (www.briztalk.org) as well as playing the trombone occassionally in orchestras such as the Northern Rivers Symphony Orchestra and St. Andrews Sinfonia in Brisbane. You'll find him here on LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/danieltoomey
